Biographies
Kevin M. McCafferty
Kevin has been active in the Private Equity business for more than 30 years. He was co-founder and Chairman of New England Capital Management, a Boston-based buyout firm focused on acquiring lower middle-market operating companies, (and the predecessor to NECP). Kevin has acquired and managed companies in numerous industries, actively working with company managements to transition their businesses to professionally managed growth entities.
Prior to starting New England Capital Management, Kevin was a General Partner at Madison Dearborn Partners and a Vice President at First Chicago Venture Capital. Kevin is also currently a Partner and senior advisor to Catalyst Health and Technology Partners, an early stage venture capital company. He is on the Board of Directors of Adams Harkness & Hill's Technology Fund, The Belmont Hill School, and numerous private companies. Kevin has also been an active private investor.
Kevin holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and an A.B. from Harvard College. Kevin currently lives in Lexington, Massachusetts with his wife Leslie. He has three sons, Kevin, Brendan, and Brian.
Robert D. Winneg
Bob has been a private equity professional for over 20 years. Prior to NECP, he was a Partner in a private equity firm investing principally in family owned businesses where he focused on professionalizing family operated companies, and developing management teams and effective Boards of Directors. He has successfully completed numerous transactions, financings, restructurings, and strategic initiatives.
He started his investment career in 1990 at the venture capital group of BancBoston Capital as principal investor in emerging growth companies in consumer products, specialty retail and certain technology segments. Bob has been an active private investor outside of his professional involvements since 1987. He has operating management experience as a founder and CFO of a start-up company, where he managed all financial aspects of the company including raising over $20 million of equity capital. Bob began his career in a family owned business where he was a production and plant manager of an apparel manufacturing company founded by his father.
Bob earned a B.A. degree from Tufts University in 1985, and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College in 1990. He is married and has three sons.
Brendan M. McCafferty
Brendan joined NECP in 2009. He was previously the President of Dustless Floor Sanding, Inc., a Needham based hardwood flooring company, and former portfolio company of New England Capital Management.
At Dustless Floor Sanding, Brendan managed the company from inception to exit, having started the company as a spin out of a separate portfolio company. While at Dustless, Brendan oversaw all aspects of the business, focusing primarily on operations and sales and marketing.
Brendan has been actively involved in our most recent acquisitions and refinancings. Brendan is principally focused on the identification and evaluation of new acquisition opportunities.
Brendan received his A.B. degree from Harvard College. He currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts with his wife Emily.
